High Hopes is more than a therapy clinic—it’s a place where children are celebrated, families are supported, and hope grows.

Our Story

High Hopes Children’s Therapy was founded in 2016 by Sara Weirich, an experienced occupational therapist, and her mother, Miriam Ahmad. Together, this mother-daughter team opened the doors to High Hopes with a shared vision: to build a therapy practice grounded in clinical excellence, family connection, and compassionate care.

In 2022, Krista Jones—a Speech-Language Pathologist and mom of three—opened Sweet Talkers Speech Therapy in Duluth with a similar mission. After navigating her own children’s speech and language journeys, Krista was inspired to create a clinic where families felt truly supported and where therapists could thrive in a positive, collaborative environment.

When Miriam retired in late 2024 and Sara stepped back to focus on her growing family, they entrusted High Hopes to Krista and her husband, Tom Jones. With a background in operations and startup growth, Tom joined Krista in bringing their shared passion for service, systems, and care together under one roof.

The merger of High Hopes and Sweet Talkers has led to a thriving, three-location practice unified under the High Hopes name. Together, Krista and Tom are expanding High Hopes' reach while preserving the warmth, safety, and personalized support that has defined their journey from the start. Their commitment remains simple: to care deeply for every child, every family, and every team member—because when everyone feels safe and supported, they thrive.
